Photoshop CS3
1. Slicked-up Interface
Interface changes can be a little disturbing to those of us who could Photoshop in our sleep, but these modifications do something we really like: Show us more of our pictures. The default settings now narrow the toolbar to one column, and palettes that you're likely to use just once in a while (such as Actions and History) pop out from icons and hide easily when you're done. If you want, you can change all the palettes to tiny icons that you call upon only when you need them, or expand them all if you've got a surplus of monitor real estate. Of course, die-hards can switch back to the old-school model any time, but why would they?
