Step 1: When we layer the nine source images at one exposure level into one file, you can see all the moving elements we're dealing with for each Smart Stack (Colored sections). If you don't have Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended, it is possible, but laborious, to erase the moving elements from each layer by following this tutorial. But with Smart Stacks, it takes just a couple of mouse clicks to merge these nine photos into one image that will erase the moving elements. Keep in mind we're dealing with a huge number of source images, so a little bit of logical file organization will go a long way in making this a smooth workflow.
