Peter Gabriel: Peter Gabriel (1980) A hyper-creative guy who couldn't be bothered to name his early albums outdid himself, visually, with his third one. Hipgnosis designer Storm Thorgerson suggested the melting effect, obtained by prodding a Polaroid print as its chemicals were developing.
