The Art of Noise, In No Sense? Nonsense (1987) Photographer Alan David-Tu created this image sans computer; he shot a mannequin, distorted the image while printing, then pasted on hair after cutting it into an odd shape. Art director John Pasche added acetate and a feather to evoke a party noisemaker. "I was doing strange stuff," said David-Tu, "and John let me get on with it and do my own thing." -- JC
