Electric Light Orchestra: Eldorado (1974) An English band that wanted to bring the sweep of strings and horns to rock, as the Beatles had once done, ELO became a bigger hit in America than it ever was in England. The band's fourth LP was a concept album about dreams. And what is the most famous dream of all? That's right -- the one Dorothy had about Oz, witches, and ruby slippers. The album's cover featured a pivotal still from the 1939 film. -- DS
