Blind Faith: Blind Faith (1969) This famous cover still stirs debate over its kiddie-porn connotations. The bare-chested girl is only 11 (and her model plane appears phallic to many viewers). Bandleader Eric Clapton asked photographer Bob Seidemann to create the image. "The space ship would be the fruit of the tree of knowledge and the girl, the fruit of the tree of life," Seidemann later said. He called the picture Blind Faith, which became the name of Clapton's group. The record company, Polydor, fought the idea, but Clapton replied, "No cover, no record." In America, an alternate shot of the band was released. The model, Mariora Goschen, volunteered for the shot and her parents gave permission -- her requested fee was a horse, but she got 40 pounds. She later claimed to be "thrilled" about her involvement, but added, "I'm still waiting for Eric Clapton to ring me about the horse." -- JC
