Step 2

VARIATIONS AUTOMATICALLY shows you your original image in the middle, with your potentially-toned images arrayed around it. In the upper right corner you'll see a box labeled Show Clipping. Uncheck it. Then dial the effect down to Fine -- subtlety is what we're after here.
