Quick Tips

While Variations is a bit clunky as a color-correction engine, you can use it when you can't figure out just how your image's color is off. Go into Variations, check out the possibilities, cancel out, then use Levels or Curves to fix your color.

Experiment! Split-toning can be any color combo: Try cyan/yellow, red/green, or just stick to one tone at a time. Test out your favorites by making lots of copies of your black-and-white image and toning them all differently.
