Convert to Black-and-White:
Step 2

SINCE WE'LL USE THE BEST of the Red, Green, and Blue channels to mix a black-and-white, check out each monochromatic channel to see which of your picture's tones it contains. In your Layers palette, click the Channels tab. Check out your Red, Green, and Blue channels individually by turning the others off (hit the little eyeball icon to do this). To see your full-color picture again, turn RGB back on.
