Curves for ContrastStep 1
Bring up the Curves dialogue in the form of an Adjustment Layer. This has two benefits: It won't add much more weight to your file, and you can always go back to readjust later. Make one by clicking the black-and-white circle in the bottom of the Layers palette (circled) and choosing Curves.
