The iPad is a great way to show off images, but the lack of true color management capabilities can be frustrating to say the least. However, with the release of this app, Datacolor is expanding it's Sypder line of calibration tools to include our beloved tablets. That means moving an image over to your iPad will no longer counteract all of that tweaking you did in post production.

Usually when we run a photo by Ben Cooper, it’s of a rocket launch (he’s a NASA photographer), but he’s also an avid nature shooter. He had the right idea, while in Yosemite, of using a flashlight to add fill light to the grass hummocks in the foreground, but the whole picture remains too flat and dark.

We were pretty amused when we came across Mealsnap, an iPhone app that could estimate the number of calories in a meal just by taking a photo of it. Now, the concept has expanded to identifying trees. 

ACDSee Pro 4 promises to be a complete solution for sorting/editing RAW images and distributing them to clients via a free cloud service. Aimed at working professional photographers, it is a direct competitor to Adobe’s Lightroom. In fact, on paper, both products seem nearly identical; both are catalogue based all-in-one solutions that offer non-destructive editing, full RAW processing, as well as sorting and key-wording capabilities.
