There are plenty of times when you take your camera out with you, but don't feel the particular need to bring along an external flash — and then you need to find some way of diffusing the flash to make your photos less horrible. Sure, you could jimmy a diffuser out of tissue paper, or use a business card as a simple reflector, but a gadget like the Easy Bounce is at least vaguely more reliable.

Prominent x-ray photographer Nick Veasey has leant his talents to a special limited edition version of The Macallan's 12-year sherry oak scotch, a single malt whisky aged in a sherry cask. The limited edition will be available in the USA only, and each of the six images used in the series are based on one of "The Macallan's Six Pillars":

Helmet cams are a great tool, but when it comes to image quality and available controls, they can't come close to a good compact camera, let alone a full-blown DSLR. That's why photographer Justin Olsen decided to create a custom rig for his own big boy cameras and then head out to the mountain bike trails to capture some truly exciting images of the sport. Justin agreed to share some info about the rig with us, as well as a couple photos taken with the set-up.

Not long ago, Flickr passed the point where they had over 6 billion photos residing on their service. That's a lot. In fact it's more than a lot, but our brains have a hard time making that kind of information usable. In order to help put it into perspective, artist Erik Kessels made a print of every photo uploaded to Flickr on a specific day. The result is over a million images that make up huge piles in the Foam gallery. The project is called, "Photography in Abundance."
