 Whether you call them bridge cameras, super-zooms or "all-in-one cameras" as Leica seems to have chosen, the crowd of long-lens compacts continues to thicken. The latest addition comes from Germany in the form of Leica's $950, 24x zooming V-Lux 3. Like a lot of other cameras in this segment, including its predecessor, the V-Lux 2, the V-Lux 3 takes a form similar to a very small DSLR. The integrated Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 4.5-108mm F/2.8 - F/5.2 ASPH lens has a 35mm equivalent of 25-600mm. 

Photographer/film maker Tom Lowe's been working on his film TimeScapes since 2009, and has recently released a new trailer that shows off to stunning effect the Red Epic he's been filming on. Between the Epic and Canon DSLRs, all the shots are of incredibly high quality, filmed and edited at 4069x2304 resolution. Filled with stunning time-lapses and slow-motion photography, each frame is the equivalent of a 9-megapixel still image.

Actress Veena Malik is suing FHM India for $2 million after the latest issue features her naked on the cover. The actress, who was accused of "shaming" Pakistan by appearing on an Indian Big Brother like Reality TV show earlier this year, says that she did pose topless for the magazine but insists that she wore a bikini, hot pants and a thong throughout the shoot.

By far the trickiest thing to understand about the upcoming Lytro camera is the science behind its innovative ability to capture a light field rather than just an image. We delved into it briefly when the camera was first announced, but what the new technology boils down to is that instead of capturing each pixel on the sensor as a dot of color, it captures the direction and intensity of a ray of light.
